Allow me to explain:
1. The hosts really are clueless and are irritating blowhards.
2. They destroyed a poor little mint NA Miata
3. They destroyed a Maverick
4. They destroyed an E30
5. They destroyed a 300ZX
6. They destroyed a hachi roku and others.
These are crimes against cool cars and therefore real gearheads everywhere, so I forbid you to watch this show. I'm just going to leave this pic here for your consideration. Thank you for your time.
I think I should clarify that, despite the fact that UK does it far more, USA really has no direction and has car destruction as the mainstay of the show for lack of inspiration (or as it would seem). The show lacks an identity, and suffers for it.
By the way, sorry for any blanket responses—I'm in a bit of a hurry.

Don't really care about the rest, but the hosts are a problem; they aren't cocky enough to be funny or humble enough to be genuine. They operate in that unfortunate grey area known as "TV Personality".

I think we can describe TG USA and what's wrong with it in ONE word... and that word is BLAND!!

I don't mind TGUSA. I like them both because TGUSA does the crazy shit and TGUK does the more "educational" (for lack of a better word) stuff.

UK has done...
1.) Smashed a 930
2.) Smashed a 300zx (TT) and 944 (T?)
3.) Cut up a Lanica Beta
4.) Stripped a Renault Aventine and added stupid wings.
5.) Parted out a 928 (Clarkson...)
6.) Dropped a dumpster on a Bi-Turbo

Exactly, which ties into my point: if you're going to destroy modern classic sports cars, you have to act like a complete and utter douche like Clarkson. Otherwise, your show has no directions and you're just a bunch of asshats on TV.

If YOU don't like it, then YOU can stop watching and bitching about it.
No one is forcing you to watch it.
There are those of us who do enjoy the show, however flawed it may or may not be, because it's still damn good Car TV when the rest of the available options are utter abysmal.

True, but they at least have the decency to reveal themselves (and by that, I mean Jeremy) as douches! With TG USA, it is a prevalent part of the show due to a lack of other content. In TG UK, it seems like a cringe worthy, but insignificant, afterthought.

The cars they destroy might have issues unseen...Maybe title issues?
Maybe they were stolen and impounded by police and never returned to owners? Maybe they were perfectly fine cars....But they had to have an issue or 5 if thy are getting them as cheap as they claim.

First of all, I was only really listing all of the cars they have destroyed and voicing the reasons I , and I think many others dislike the show (actually, that was just number one). Not trying to offend anyone—I was just posting something.

Oh, let's add on a few more.
8.) Cut up a WRX.
9.) Wrecked a 850R.
10.) Cut up an E39 5-series wagon.
11.) DAMAGED A C-TYPE JAGUAR (series 2 episode 4)

I really like Rutledge, Adam is slowly growing on me, but I think Tanner is a complete douchebag. He could be the coolest person in the world, but he comes across in the show like rich kids I knew in high school. The chemistry of the group has gotten better, but it will never be what they have on the BBC. And herein lies the biggest problem:
The show's title.
Calling it "Top Gear USA" immediately makes you compare it to "Top Gear," which gives it incredibly unrealistic expectations. The BBC version has insane budgets and got to work out their kinks in the first few seasons when nobody was watching.
Top Gear USA debuted at the height of Top Gear's popularity, so people wanted it to be equal in quality to the BBC version. Which is incredibly unfair and does a disservice to the show. It's never going to live up to those expectations.

I've seen interviews of these guy getting asked these sorts of questions about the show. The feeling i get is that its kinda over produced by the wrong people. UK seems to be more free in letting those dudes perform. The US are all rad dudes on their own.
...wait a minute, is this Youtube or OPPO? Whats going on here? Forget i said anything, I dont want to get sucked in to this ever again.

Not gonna flame you ... but I disagree wildly with you for the simple reason that TGUSA is a car show that is FAR are entertaining than 99% of the crap on the History Channel. We need to encourage them on this show, otherwise we run the risk of YET ANOTHER redneck reality show. Humanity just can't take much more of that.

This!
If it were called something other than Top Gear and they didn't do the same stunts, it might be acceptable. As it is it just feels like the K-Mart Top Gear.

I think the thing that made it sound like you're complaining is when you title it "What's wrong with TG USA?" and then go on to say to forbid your friends to watch it. That might be why people are thinking that.

Sorry, the tone implied wasn't as harsh as the words read it to be. (Where is that damn sarcasm font already?)
I realize TGUSA isn't for everyone. But those who complain also need to stop comparing it to TGUK. Yes, it has the same name, and roughly the same format. That's because the BBC makes huge money selling the right to their IP around the world.
They have improved the show immensely over 4 seasons. Anyone who still thinks it's crap really ought to watch the first 2 seasons of TGUK and then they can complain if they wish.
Sure it's sad to see those cars get killed. But, realistically, at least they were driven one last time. I'd bet most of them had been sitting neglected for a long time before they were purchased by the History Channel for our entertainment.

You didn't have a harsh tone, I was just kidding around. Sorry if I seemed to act in an offended/defensive matter—it's all good. I agree that it's improved, and I don't actually dislike it that much; it's only that I was bored and found a list of all the cars they have wrecked. I am not even up-in-arms over the car destruction, as I was merely listing the cars under a title that was somewhat unrelated. This is only one bout of sarcasm fonts only working for me today. Anyways, sorry if my post came across as stupid or irrelevant. It was stupid and irrelevant. I think it will be a good show someday, but that means we only have so many days left to take advantage of people's negative perception of it and make fun of it. Anyways, I suppose it's about time for me to watch another episode. Sorry to be an ass about a show that you (and many others) like.

No worries.
Not having a sarcsm font makes it hard to get the correct tone for posting. I meant no offense, and none was taken.
That's why I like it around here. Pictures us a good friends arguing over a good beer. We agree it's dumb argument, slug each other on the arm, and take another swig.

I do watch every episode, but my problem with TPUSA is that they only do challenges, and challenges only.
they basically never review a car, tanner always wins, adam always trashes what he is driving, and rutledge, well is rutledge.
I don't even know what the stig has to do with this show other than landing on tanner's car.
They just forgot that it's a car show, not a weekly pissing match between the hosts.
